Mo Pitney is a rising country singer from the US. Last year he released his debut album ‘Behind This Guitar‘ via Club Records, the LP was well received by fans and critics alike and ever since he has been performing around the world building up a strong fanbase.
Here we speak exclusively to the 24-year-old whose real name is Morgan Daniel Pitney, about his upcoming UK tour, British country, musical icons and much more:
Growing up did you always know you wanted to be a musician?
By the time I was 11 or 12 I knew I wanted to play music but I didn’t think much about being able to make a living at it! I just didn’t seem like reality ..I’m glad it played out this way.
Who or what inspired you to get into music?
Watching my dads love for country music definitely started all of this!
Who are your musical icons?
The list is very long, I’ll give the short version…Tony Rice,Larry Sparks Don Willams, Merle Haggard, and Roger Miller.
If you could collaborate with anyone who would you choose?
James Taylor.
What is the main inspiration behind your new single and debut album?
The Light Of The World.
The UK country scene is booming, are you excited about playing in front of a British audience later this month?
Everyone has said it’s Amazing so I’m very excited .
Who are your favourite British country acts at the moment?
I think I need to do some more listening while I’m here!
Which UK city are you most excited about visiting while on tour?
London!
What do you hope to achieve over the next ten years?
I just hope to maintain a good healthy growth in all God lays before me.
