Toni Renee Turner died on July 15, 2017, at the age of 65, according to her death certificate acquired from the Indiana State Department of Health. She was born in Ottumwa, Iowa, on November 22, 1951.

She was admitted at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana, ahead of her death. Toni was considered deceased due to natural causes around 7.30 pm local time.

According to the death certificate, the immediate cause of death was "cardiopulmonary failure," - also known as cardiac arrest. Other reasons included "shock, sepsis, and renal failure," - sometimes known as kidney failure. Gerry later revealed to People that her death came after she got sick from a bacterial infection.

No autopsy was done. Services were held at Fair Haven Funeral and Cremation Services in Indiana, according to the certificate.

Toni Hamilton was born on November 22, 1951, in Ottumwa Gerry Turner and her got married on February 13, 1972.

She retired in May 2017 after ten years of service as Trinity Medical Center's volunteer coordinator. She had previously worked for John Deere for 25 years.

Toni's significant volunteer activity affected the lives of many people in the Quad-City area. Toni volunteered with the John Deere Classic in a variety of capacities for 23 years, including as the main chairman for numerous Festival of Trees programs, per Gossip Next Door.
