Throughout her career, Jocelyn’s devotion to her organization and her allegiance to it allowed her to advance through the ranks and eventually be promoted to General Manager of Product Strategy. She possessed an unwavering work ethic and the natural ability to inspire her team to success. Her professional trajectory was characterized by these two attributes.
A Giving and Compassionate Individual
Jocelyn was renowned for her sensitivity, thoughtfulness, and kindness. She was a woman with a keen business sense and the ability to lead with grace. Her family and friends held the most personal significance to her. Jocelyn was a very giving and compassionate individual who was constantly searching for opportunities to give back to the community. She sat on the boards of directors of several different corporations and was very generous to many different organizations.
Jocelyn and Elliot provided unwavering support over the years to both the Billion Oyster Project and the New York Harbor School. The couple also endowed a scholarship at their alma mater, Washington University in St. Louis, to assist students with financial need.
Funeral Arrangements
On Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at 9:00 a.m., the funeral will take place at Congregation Rodeph Sholom, which is situated at 7 West 83rd Street, New York, New York 10024. The burial will take place at Mount Hebron, 130-04 Horace Harding Expressway, Queens, New York 11367, following the funeral. Those who are able to continue her legacy after her death include her brother Jeffrey Friedman, sister Pam Ollendorff (Scott), parents Mitchell and Jill Friedman, spouse Elliot Steelman, and children Felix and Jacob Steelman.
Dawna Steelman is Erica and Michael Steelman’s sister-in-law and the daughter-in-law of Barry and Sheila Steelman. To her nieces and nephews, Dana Friedman, MJ Steelman, and Hila Steelman, Auntie Hila is devoted. Her nieces and nephews are Ben and Andrew Ollendorff.
